Iringole Kavu is an ancient sacred grove and forest temple dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathy (Durga), located near Perumbavoor in Ernakulam district, Kerala. It is one of the most famous sacred groves (Kavu) in the state and is renowned for its unique blend of spirituality, mythology, and biodiversity.

• Situated about 2–3 km from Perumbavoor town in Ernakulam district.

Historical and Religious Significance

• Iringole Kavu is traditionally believed to be one of the 108 Durga temples consecrated by Lord Parasurama in Kerala.
• According to local legend, the presiding deity is associated with Yoga Maya, the divine girl child who escaped from King Kamsa after helping protect the infant Krishna.
• The grove has been revered for centuries as a sacred forest where nature itself is considered divine.

• The temple is located within a dense forest covering about 50 acres, making it one of Kerala's largest and best-preserved sacred groves.

Deity and Worship

Tradition holds that the Goddess manifests in three forms during the day:

• Morning: Saraswati (Goddess of Knowledge)
• Noon: Vana Durga (Forest Goddess)
• Night: Bhadrakali (Goddess of Power) 

Major Festival

• The annual festival, known as Poora Maholsavam, is celebrated during the Malayalam month of Meenam (March–April).
• Navaratri is also observed with special devotion.
