Swap Shop Inauguration

The Swap Shop, launched under the leadership of Perumbavoor Municipality to promote waste reduction and a culture of reuse, was inaugurated on 13.05.2026.

The inauguration was performed by the Honorable Municipal Chairperson, Ms. Sangeetha K. N. In her inaugural address, she stated that exchanging usable items instead of discarding them can significantly reduce waste and contribute to environmental protection.

The function was presided over by Ms. Sangeetha K. N., Chairperson of Perumbavoor Municipality. The event was attended by public representatives, officials, Kudumbashree members, students, and members of the public. The Swap Shop provides a platform for the exchange of reusable items such as books, clothes, toys, and household articles.

The speakers at the event remarked that the Swap Shop is an excellent initiative for promoting the concept of Zero Waste and creating awareness about the importance of reuse among the public. The participants extended their full support to the project.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks. It is expected that this initiative will become a significant step forward for Perumbavoor Municipality in promoting environmental conservation and sustainable development.
