“Read and grow, think and gain wisdom.” Through this enlightening message that spreads knowledge, the creative world of reading has been nurtured. The death anniversary of P. N. Panicker, observed on June 19, is celebrated as Reading Day by libraries across Kerala.

For the past 11 years, the cultural gathering ‘Aksharapperuma’ has been organized under the auspices of the Perumbavoor Municipal Library. The event includes discussions on various topics, cultural lectures, remembrance of artists, honoring eminent personalities in the fields of art and literature in Perumbavoor, and art exhibitions. All these have made ‘Aksharapperuma’ an unforgettable event in the cultural history of Perumbavoor.

As in previous years, this year too, the Perumbavoor Municipal Library is organizing ‘Aksharapperuma 2026’, a series of grand programs from June 20 to 24, 2026.
